Carol Michaelis is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC#7771) who has an abundance of experience working with teens, adults and families grow and find meaning. She specializes in working with people to overcome trauma, grief, anxiety, stress, depression and substance abuse.
Carol uses an integrative clinical approach that is trauma informed, strength based, CBT and person centered to support clients in meeting their desired goals. Her clinical approach incorporates evidence-based treatment practices dependent on the clients age and concerns. She will work with you to identify the underlying issues causing you distress.
She strives to create a safe space where clients can share their thoughts, feelings, and history in a non-judgmental setting. She wants create a strong therapeutic relationship to explore your goals and help you experiment with new ways of being in the world. Sometimes no matter what you try feelings of sadness, anxiety, unresolved trauma or other mental health challenges seem impossible to overcome. All people have the potential to change and Carol wants to start this journey with you.
